Fabric Requirements

This pattern requires a light to midweight fabric. You may choose to make this skirt in either a woven or a knit fabric. If you are using a knit fabric, be aware that the vertical stretch in some fabrics may cause your skirt to 'grow', particularly in the longer lengths. If you are using a fabric with vertical stretch, less than 25% is ideal.

Your fabric choice will have a huge impact on how your final garment looks. A more structured woven fabric such as quilting cotton will give a fuller skirt than a lighter, drapey fabric like rayon challis. The same applies for a knit fabric. A more structured knit such as liverpool will give a full skirt than a lighter, drapey fabric such as ITY.

Measurements are in yards and based on either 44" (112 cm) or 56” (142 cm) wide fabric. Yardage assumes that your fabric has been prewashed and preshrunk. Extra fabric may be required for matching prints, directional fabric, or if you need to add length.
