The Susan Swing Shorts and Pants pattern is here, and it. is. AWESOME. Susan was a labor of love from the drafting standpoint. I worked on these in the background in between knit patterns for the last 5 months. An entire king sized flat sheet was sacrificed for the multiple samples I made to get it just right. I refined the pattern eight times before I was happy enough with it to put it into testing. It was all worth it. V1 of the pattern pieces was right on the money, and our testers really made this pattern glow. I am so excited to show you all of their makes.
Susan is a high rise, woven pattern with eight inseam lengths ranging from 2" microshorts all the way to full length pants. My very first final pair are the 4" shorts in a size 10, made from a cotton linen from Surge Fabrics.
On the other end of the spectrum, I made a full length pants version from a viscose rayon I've been hoarding. This fabric is from Mood Fabrics. It's SO much fun to walk in these! Swish, swish!
Ready to dive in? Sizes are (more or less) in order so that you can find what you are looking for. Many, many people need to grade their patterns to fit their body, so the sizing is based upon full hip measurement.
Ashley: Size 2 with viscose fabric.
Krista: Size 2 with rayon challis fabric.
KimberlyKay: Size 4 with lyocell denim fabric.
Donna: Size 6 with poly blend satin fabric.
Sierra: Size 6. Top two shorts versions are cotton. Bottom pants version is a lightweight denim.
