Rhubarb Raglan Tester Round-up

Rhubarb Raglan Tester Round-up

So guess what?! We FINALLY got our raglan block into testing, and it turned out amazing. SO good, actually, I added in some fun details to really punch it up. Not only do you get several hem lengths (crop to knee dress), and sleeve lengths (cap to long), AND necklines (Vneck, anyone?), you ALSO get the option of adding a V-patch at the neckline. Or sleeve stripes. Or cuffs. Or elbow patches, including a sweet heart patch.

You can grab your copy of the Rhubarb Ringer Raglan RIGHT HERE! Then, let's take a tour of options and sizes and fabrics, courtesy of our amazing testers.

I'll start us off with the ringer top I made for my baby girl. She saw a Hello Kitty top in Forever 21, but really didn't like the feel of the fabric. I made a dupe for her, and she's worn it three times in the last week. That's a mom win right there. She's a size 2 and this is cotton lycra.

Lindsay made a size 2 with a french terry.

Emily made a size 2 in cotton spandex.

Sunarti made a size 4 in cotton lycra.

Sierra made two in a size 4. The green on the left is a french terry, and the pink on the right is a waffle knit.

Maria made a size 6 in DBP.

Michelle couldn't stop making raglans! Top left (light gray) is an angora sweater knit. Top right (black) is a chunky sweater knit. Center (black and pink skulls) is a jersey/rib knit combo. Bottom left (lavender) is a hacci sweater knit. And, finally, bottom right (ivory) is a sweatshirt fleece/thermal knit combo. WHEW!

Tasha made this absolutely adorable size 6 in cotton lycra. Her daughter isn't much for modeling, but I had to show you the heart elbow patches. SO perfect for Valentine's Day!

Melissa also went to town sewing several in a size 6FBA! Top left (solid gray) is a lightweight polartec. Top right (silver lace) is in bamboo. Center (cats!) is a peached performance. Bottom left (blue mandala) is also peached performance, and bottom right (dark green) is Polartec Delta.

Jenni made a size 8/12 in cotton lycra.

I made a few versions in a size 8/10. Left (storm trooper) is cotton lycra. Right (blue top) is a burnout jersey. The bottom photo (blue dress) is a Tshirt jersey.

Kelsey made a size 8 in french terry.

Cassie made two version in a size 8. Both are DBP.

Lia made a size 8 in a cotton lycra/sweater knit combo.

Lisa made her daughter a size 8 dress in a thermal knit.

Ashley made a size 8 out of french terry. LOVING the Vpatch and the heart elbow patches!

Sophie made a size 8 crop in a cotton lycra.

Jessica made two size 8s, both in DBP.

Lorene made a size 8/10 in a DBP. Yay elbow patches!

Laura made a size 10 with a full bicep adjustment in DBP. Fabulous details!

Pamela made two versions in a size 10FBA. On the left (short sleeve) is a tri-blend, and on the right (long sleeve) is cotton lycra. The lace sleeves are such a pretty touch!

Amirah made a size 10 in a cotton spandex.

Mara made a size 10/12FBA. She used a VERY stretchy bamboo to accommodate her 39 week belly!

Yvonne made two versions in a size 12. The top on the left is a rib knit, and the dress on the right is an ITY.

Tina made two version in a 12FBA. The top on the left is cotton lycra. The dress on the right is a french terry/cotton lycra combo.

Anna made two versions as well in a size 12. Both are made in a DBP.

Lisa made two lovely versions in a size 12FBA/20. The top is a bamboo, and the bottom is a cotton thermal.

Tasha wins the award for Most Raglans Made in testing! She made SIX in a 14FBA! Four are per pattern, and then she had a little fun with a couple mix-ins. The first two: on the left is a poly cotton lycra ,and on the right is a bamboo french terry.

Next up, the yellow dress on the left is a sweater knit, and the cool elbow patch on the right is DBP.

This version is a french terry and made according to the pattern except for the sleeve cuffs. She borrowed the fancy thumbhole cuffs from the Amaranth Jacket and Pullover.

Last, but definitely not least, Tasha borrowed the neckline, placket and hood from the Hawthorn Henley. The ease and neckline lengths are very similar between these two patterns. The fabrics are a cotton lycra/french terry combo. After seeing her version, I'm thinking we need this to be an actual pattern! What do you think?

Becky made two versions in a 14FBA. The left is a sweater knit, and the right is a thermal/ribbed knit combo.

Lorraine made two versions in a 14FBA/20 hip, both out of DBP.

Joan was in the mood for raglans and made herself three versions in a size 20. Left to right they are cotton rib, synthetic blend, and a wool jersey.

Carolyn made a size 18FBA/20 with a french terry.

Amy made her size 18FBA/24 hip with a french terry.

The great thing about raglans, is you can sew one up super duper fast. Or do a slower sew with lots of detail. In case you don't want to scroll all the way up, here's that link to the pattern again!
