I've had this pattern in the back of my head forEVER. In my head, it lived as a cozy pullover, but as I started fleshing out the idea, it morphed into SO much more. Pullover, absolutely. But also a jacket, hoodie, dress.... I threw in a bunch of neckline and pocket options (plus a pretty snazzy thumbhole cuff), and presto! The Amaranth Jacket and Pullover was brought into existence.
Here's a quick look at the three size 8s I made in testing. First, a super quick and easy dress in DBP with a regular neckband and cap sleeves. I added a pair of Foxglove shorts underneath. Some testers added elastic into the waist, or a belt, and it's a great spring/summer look!
Next up is a jacket made out of a cotton French terry from Surge Fabric Shop. I have a long term obsession with cotton French terry. It's warm and easy to sew, but also has great stretch and body. I did the fancy thumbhole cuffs on this one. I'm a little proud of myself for figuring out construction on those!
Lastly, I put my big girl panties on, and went for it with this Double Sided Super Plush Polartec Fleece (also from Surge). Yes. That fabric is as incredible as it sounds, and I now have a stylish warm coat for the winter.
Pretty cool how different they all look, huh? That's my cue to stop talking about myself, and let's take a journey through all of our marvelous testers' makes!
